LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR VOLUNTEERS

We are blessed to have this group of dedicated individuals that volunteer their time to teach classes every Sunday and help spread God's word to children in our parish family.

ERICA ROBERTS

Director of Religious Education

St. Aloysius is my home where I was born and raised into the Catholic faith - grateful to my parents! I love working with the parish families and children, and sharing my love of Christ but also, growing personally in my own faith. My husband, Gerald and I reside locally, and together we have 2 children, Zachary and Aubree. Through the week you can find me at the hospital in Bluffton, as I work to serve the community through my calling of Occupational Therapy. I mostly enjoy spending quality time with my family and trying to balance the multitude of tasks that comes with being a wife and mother. I feel God has/continues to call me to share my time and love of God with our youth while at the same time gives me opportunities to still grow and learn from them as well.

JULIE CALLAHAN

Kindergarten & 1st Grade

I am a licensed special/elementary education teacher with experience working with students pre-K through college graduate level. I have experience working in both the public and private school settings. I currently work full time for Fort Wayne Community Schools as a Resource Teacher. In this capacity, I manage large special education caseloads for several private schools that reside in the district.

Prior to becoming a licensed teacher, I held various positions in higher education at the University of Saint Francis, the University of Wyoming, and the University of Texas at Austin. Education has always been a passion.

LAURA HOTT

2nd Grade

Saint Aloysius Parish has been my family’s home for nine years and counting. We love it here! I have seven children, and they all go to Saint Aloysius, Bishop Luers, or have graduated. I teach gym and Spanish/computers at Saint Aloysius School. Teaching is so much fun for me as I enjoy getting to know all the children and watching them grow into amazing young adults.

This is my first year teaching Religious Education. I am jumping in with the sacramental year of 2nd grade. I am so excited!!! As the Eucharist is what sets our religion apart from others, I am thrilled to be a part of these children’s religious journey.

EMILY DLUZAK

3rd & 4th Grade

I have been a parishioner here at St. Aloysius my whole life and went through the religious education program as well. I have been teaching since 2024 and am looking forward to continuing teaching these kids.

I am the youngest of 5 and have 4 older brothers. During the week I work at Lutheran

Life Villages as a QMA and my goal is to eventually become an RN. In my free time I enjoy

reading and being outdoors.

CORINNA WYSS

5th & 6th Grade

I have been a parishioner at St. Aloysius for 13 years. I have been a CCD teacher for three of those years. I do not have any formal teaching experience, but I do enjoy sharing what I have learned through various religion classes at Bishop Dwenger and the University of Saint Francis, as well as experiences on pilgrimage to Rome, Medugorje and Jerusalem.

My daughter goes to Saint Aloysius and my son attends Bishop Luers High School.

Our family farms, just south of the church. In my free time, I enjoy reading, gardening, and cooking.

JOE DLUZAK

7th & 8th Grade

My wife Kathy (Wyss) and I have been married for 36 years. Kathy grew up in this parish and we have been parishioners at St. Aloysius now for 28 years. I started teaching 7th and 8th grade CCD in 2015. I took 3 years off when I joined the Deaconate Program, when I realized that is not where God wanted me, I once again started teaching the 7th and 8th graders.

This upcoming school year will by my third year back. I feel God is calling me to share my faith, spirituality and knowledge with our youth, and it brings me great joy to instruct and interact with them.
